On 7 March 2020, the Faculty of Law at UBU organized a ceremony to present certificates to the trainees who completed the Administrative Law and Administrative Court Procedures Course. Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President, presided over the ceremony and awarded certificates to the 47 trainees. The ceremony was held at U-Place Hotel at UBU. Additionally, a special seminar titled Morality and Ethics for Administrative Lawyers was also given. The keynote speakers of the seminar were Mr. Somchai Wattanagaroon, Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, Mr. Anont Adireksombat, President of the Ubon Ratchathani Administrative Court and Mr. Hussadee Sriwichian, President of a Chamber of the Ubon Ratchathani Administrative Court. Mr. Kanpetch Chaitawib, Dean of Faculty of Law served as the moderator of the seminar.
Notably, the course taught by the Faculty of Law was accredited by the Judicial Commission and it was held for batch #1 from June 2019 to January 2020. The course aimed to help the trainees increase their knowledge and understanding on legal concepts and theories, rules of law, as well as experiences related to administrative law and administrative court procedures. Furthermore, it aimed to encourage the trainees to apply the knowledge gained from the course in their workplace.
As a result of the course, the trainees have substantially increased their expertise in the field and are prepared to utilize their knowledge and skills outside of the classroom.
UBU hopes that the course has inspired the awarded trainees to help develop the rules and laws of Thailand to have an equal balance between individual rights and public interests, and for it to be in alignment with the international standards of administrative law and justice.
