The Faculty of Science at UBU Promotes Young Generation’s 21st Century Skills: Step Forward to a Digital Society


On 22 August 2020, the Faculty of Science at UBU organized a workshop on promoting technological skills for high school students at Phana Suksa School, Amnat Charoen Province. Asst. Prof. Dr. Chatchawin Namman together with
Dr. Sompong Valuvanathorn and Mr. Anupong Rathiroom, lecturers from the Faculty of Science at UBU, were keynote speakers during the workshop.

 

The workshop aims to provide knowledge and practice skills in computers and information technology for students and teachers in Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, Sisaket and Yasothon Province. In addition, it aims to serve schools’ policies and guidelines on the promotion science and technology and was organized under the collaborative network with UBU.

 

Mr. Anupong Rathiroom, head of the project, stated that this activity promotes essential skills for students and teachers to live in the 21st century and encourages them to be ready for a digital society. It also serves the Thailand’s National Strategies promoting learning management process that helps students achieve success in their academic studies. Moreover, accessible communication tools and information technology supporting a broad transmission of knowledge to learners were developed. The obtained skills can be applied to create new knowledge.  The skills provided consisted of applications of the Internet of Things (IoT) for the “New Normal” period, a practice on electrical equipment circuit, an IoT contest and a business plan contest using a startup IoT technology: Business Model Generation (BMG).

 

This workshop was organized for three times and received great feedbacks from the participants as they request UBU to organize more events every year.

 

UBU thanks teachers and students from Satree Siriket School, Sisaket Province, Triam Udom Suksa Pattanakarn School, Ubon Ratchathani Province and Phana Suksa School, Amnat Charoen Province for seeing the importance of technology and allowing UBU to organize the activities at the schools.

 

UBU also congratulates all participants on their success with the workshop and thanks them for their attendance and participation. UBU looks forward to organizing more projects and activities that will help improve the quality of life for our people.
